Who can join

We welcome applications from undergraduate and postgraduate students currently enrolled at any recognized public or private university in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, or China.

Students from all majors are encouraged to apply, especially those passionate about innovation, problem-solving, and sustainability. No prior work experience is required,  just bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm!
 

Update: deadline extended & new application option

Due to overwhelming demand and feedback from students, we are pleased to announce an extension to the application deadline. 

The new deadline for all countries, with the exception of China, is now March 30, 2026. The deadline for applicants in China is April 6, 2026.

This extension provides more time for students across the region to prepare and submit their applications.

Plus, we're introducing more flexibility: you can now submit an individual proposal in addition to the existing team application option.

How it works

1. Submit proposal: Have an idea that fits our thematic areas? Put together a team of 2 or 3 and prepare your submission, ensuring the budget does not exceed USD 3,000.
2. Join pitch contest: The leaders of the selected teams will be required to deliver a three-minute pitch to a judging panel composed of senior leaders.
3. Win and implement: The six winning teams will each receive USD3,000 in funding and dedicated mentorship over a 3-month period to transform their innovative ideas into reality! To mark the start of the milestone, the winning teams will join our senior leaders for a welcome reception. 
4. Get awarded: The three most impactful projects, selected after the 3-month period, will be recognized at the celebration event with the AD NextGen Awards, each receiving a cash prize of USD6,000!

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I apply if I’ve never pitched before?
   Yes, Absolutely, it is a launchpad to help you refine your ideas and build presentation confidence. What matters most is your creative thinking and the drive to solve real-world problems. If you submit by 1 March 2026, you will be enrolled into an exclusive Pitching Masterclass to help you for your pitching preparation.
2. Do I need a well planned project idea to apply?
   No, perfection is not required at this stage. Submit your idea and what you plan to do with the USD3,000 grant. 
3. I am interested in participating but I do not have a partner or team members.
   Get help from university: You can ask your professor/lecturer to recommend students
   
   Inform us: We help connect you to other interested students; kindly note the student may be from another university and it requires extra efforts to communicate and work with them.
   
   Submit your idea for individual category: Let us support you to realize your idea by working with our LEAD associates.
4. How many submissions can each participant make?
   Each participant may submit only one (1) project proposal under their name. Multiple submissions are not allowed.
5. I am currently interning with Avery Dennison. Am I eligible for AD NextGen?
   Avery Dennison student interns are welcome to join AD NextGen once their internship with us is complete.
6. I just graduated. Can I participate in AD NextGen?
   The AD NextGen program is primarily for current students. Nevertheless, recent graduates are encouraged to look into the LEAD program, a dedicated initiative specifically designed to cultivate leadership skills and provide valuable career-building experiences.
