What attracted you to your chosen work?

I was so young when I entered the world of work with no experience, which was all new to me. However, I was attracted by the work team.

What skills did you develop early that are still useful today?

The first skills I developed relevant to my work today are teamwork and sharing.

Meeting many people during business trips to foreign countries taught me how to relate to others and opened my mind to new realities.

How have you grown in your career at Avery Dennison?

Difficult to answer, but my desire to learn new things, processes, and people has helped my professional growth. Starting as an operator and covering all the positions in the finishing department, I became a team leader. They also gave me the opportunity to visit other sites in Europe. As a final change, I had the pleasure of joining the sales team in a customer service role.

What's the biggest stretch opportunity you've taken on?

The first challenge was to understand that I wanted to grow in Avery Dennison, and it took me a short time. I welcomed all the opportunities that I got with enthusiasm, supported by the people around me. All the roles I held were great opportunities for me. The most significant opportunity was utterly changing my role and joining the sales and customer service team.

What role has mentorship played in your career?

Starting so young in operations, I had the opportunity to have many mentors, from coordinators to managers, HR, and all the people who followed.

The most important actions are to stay in close contact with the sales teams, learn as much as possible, and be ready for the first opportunity.

What's the best career decision you've ever made?

The best decision I made was to accept the transfer to another Avery Dennison manufacturing site in the United Kingdom. In addition to learning the language, I met a woman at Avery Dennison who is now my wife and my son's mother. Last but not least was the transition from shift work to office work.

As you think about the next steps in your career, what are the most important actions you plan to take?

The most important actions are to stay in close contact with the sales teams, learn as much as possible, and be ready for the first opportunity.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

First, I like being part of the customer service team, supporting customers from order entry to shipments. Above all, I enjoy participating in sales meetings and staying in touch with the Sales team. I have been entrusted with two customers that I follow both as a CSR and as a salesperson.
